Seanad ÉireannA referendum on the thirty-second Amendment of the Constitution (Abolition of Seanad Éireann) will take place on Friday October 4th. Over the next couple of weeks there should be more discuussion and debate about the issue. These resources may help teachers discuss the issue of abolition of the Seanad with their pupils in the classroom.

The first booklet explains how Seanad Éireann is currently elected. The other resource (in English and Gaeilge) gives information on the procedure of the forthcoming referendum as well as the history of referenda in Ireland.
