Resources for the Primary School Teacher
The National Sea Life Centre is located on the sea front in Bray, Co. Wicklow. Sometimes described as an “aquatic zoo”, it is home to over 1,000 creatures including Black Tip Reef Sharks, Octopus, Seahorses, Stingrays and Red-Bellied Piranha. Seomra Ranga has been selected as the Site of the Week on Scoilnet for this week. This is a great honour for the Seomra Ranga website to be highlighted again on Ireland’s largest portal site for education. Scoilnet referred to Seomra Ranga as the “multi award winning site [which] is a Scoilnet favourite for seasonal resources, teacher-made powerpoints, articles and insights”. [click to continue…]

Popular UK educational website Teaching News has selected Seomra Ranga as the first in its new series for the new year of “Brilliant Blogger of the Week“. Naturally, I’m delighted and honoured to be selected as the inaugural recipient of this weekly accolade on this well-known website. Now into its sixth year, it’s been another busy year on Seomra Ranga and it’s safe to say that, at this stage, the website has become a mainstay in the online educational digital landscape in Ireland. Without doubt, the highlight of the year came at the very end with the unexpected and surprising win of the Best Individual Blog in the Edublog 2012 Awards. Given that Seomra Ranga was pitted against 139 top educational blogs from literally all over the world puts the win into some perspective.
