Peg The Missing Number 01

Peg The Missing NumberThis resource is aimed at junior pupils or SEN pupils. It is based on number sequences. The pack contains 20 cards – at the top of each card is a sequence of numbers with one number missing. The pupil has to use a clothes peg to identify which of the four numbers at the bottom of the card  is the missing number from the sequence. All of the sequences involve numbers up to 20.

Laminate all of the pages in the resource and cut up into 20 separate cards. The pack could be split up into two packs of ten cards. This pack could be an ideal activity for numeracy station work in Rang I/II. A pack of 6 sets could be put together, one for each pupil in the group, to be completed at a “number station”.

This activity is especially suitable for pupils who may not be able to write answers but understand sequences, therefore it is a way for them to demonstrate this understanding. It is also good for fine motor skills in the manipulation of the pegs onto the cards.
