This Primary Anti-Cyber Bullying Teachers’ Handbook is an SPHE resource developed to engage 5th and 6th class primary school pupils on the topic of cyber bullying. Developed by Webwise and PDST Technology in Education, a series of short animations are the centrepiece of the resource. These aim to help pupils develop the skills and understanding to be responsible, socially conscious and effective internet users, as they explore social networks for the first time.
There are five lessons in the pack covering various aspects of cyber bullying. Lessons show teachers how they fit into the strands/strand units of the SPHE curriculum. They also contain curriculum links, worksheets, activities and quizzes. For those schools with poor broadband access, the animations can be downloaded and saved at home to bring into school.
This is a great series of lessons for 5th/6th class and would be ideal to do during the week of Safer Internet Day on February 10th.
