IATSE ConferenceThe Irish Association of Teachers in Special Education (IATSE) will hold their 26th Annual International Conference on June 13th and 14th in All Hallows College, Dublin. With a theme of “Relationships – Learning Together”, the conference will explore the wide range of relationships integral to education for students with special educational needs. It will look at the complex interaction between members of the school community, external agencies and the impact this may have on successful teaching and learning. The conference sees the child at the centre of these relationships and recognises the key role of teachers in facilitating positive relationships.

As well as an address from keynote speaker, Flo Longhorn, a veteran in the field of special education, the conference also offers delegates a selection of five concurrent presentations/ workshops per hourly session on a range of topics associated with the education of pupils with special needs, both in primary and post-primary schools as well as special schools. More information on all of the presentations, as well as abstracts and information on the presenters can be found in the Conference Programme.

Attendance at the conference costs €100 for two days including IATSE membership and a light lunch on the Friday. A special rate of €50 is available for those who wish to attend on Saturday only. The Conference Registration Form is on the IATSE website.
