Peg Disc Maths 03This resource is aimed at infant/junior pupils or SEN pupils at the beginning of work on numeracy. It is based on the subtraction of number up to 10. There are six pages in the resource which should be laminated and cut into complete circles.

Write the numbers 1-10 on wooden pegs using permanent marker. Ask the pupil to subtract the numbers in each segment on the circle and match the answer on the peg to the sum on the disc. Each disc should have an answer from 1-10.

This activity is especially suitable for SEN pupils who may not be able to write numbers but can count. It is a way for them to demonstrate their understanding of subtraction. It is also good for fine motor skills in the manipulation of the pegs onto the cards.
