First-Next-Then Boards, a follow-up to the First-Then Boards, are useful for pupils with special needs, especially pupils on the autism spectrum, to help them to focus on completing tasks. It helps them to realise that two tasks must be completed before earning a preferred activity. The “First” and “Then” boxes could be tasks that the teacher wants the pupil to complete, while the “Then” box could be an activity that the pupil really enjoys. For example, it could be: First complete the Matching Exercise, Next do the puzzle and Then you can play an iPad game.
The download comes in six different colours and, if possible, should be laminated. The spots in the boxes are where Velcro should be attached, the other side of which is attached to the rear of laminated pictures of various activities to place in the boxes.
