Surface RTI don’t usually promote individual products on this blog, but this is something that I think will be interesting to schools and teachers. Microsoft has a limited pricing offer for educators for their new Surface RT Tablet. Included with the Surface RT is Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 RT providing students and educators with the productivity tools they use most – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote – all optimized for a touch screen. It has a HD camera, speakers, microphone, built-in kick-stand for easy reading of e-books, eight-hour battery life and access to over 20,000 educationally-relevant apps worldwide in the Windows Store from many of the biggest names in education. This might prove to be a viable alternative to iPads for schools.

Until August 31st Microsoft is offering the following exclusive educators prices for this new tablet:

Surface RT (32GB) – €190. 65 (Price inclusive of VAT)

Surface RT (32GB) with Touch Keyboard Cover – €241.08 (Price inclusive of VAT)

Surface RT (32GB) with Type Keyboard Cover – €280.44 (Price inclusive of VAT)
