Making choices can be difficult for some pupils on the autism spectrum. However, it is important that they get experience of making choices. This Choice Board is a great visual cue to the pupil and allows them to select one of four choices to include in their schedule. The choices are included in a shape, not a line, so that it is not confused with a schedule. The teacher may at first like to direct the choices or the pupil may have a say on what is included on the Choice Board. The sheets should be laminated and pictures of the four choices should then be attached into each box using velcro. The pupil can then make their choice and include it in their schedule.
