The Junior Spider Awards, the schools’ version of the main Spider Awards, was established in 2009 to: encourage the use of the internet to teach subjects on our curriculum; acknowledge the innovation amongst web creators in schools; provide an exciting programme that will encourage teachers/students to further develop their technology skills in web design.

Entries are now being accepted for the 2013 Junior Spider Awards. The Primary School section of the awards is called the “Mega Spiders”. There are three categories for primary schools to enter: Best Project, Best School Blog, Best School Website. The closing date for entries is Friday, 1st February 2013. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 5th March 2013 at the RDS.

The Eircom Junior Spider Awards are supported by the National Centre for Technology in Education (NCTE), CoderDojo and Intel.
