Edublog Awards 2012 Nominations

by admin on 16/11/2012

The Edublog Awards is a community based initiative started in 2004 in response to community concerns relating to how schools, districts and educational institutions were blocking access of learner and teacher blog sites for educational purposes. The purpose of the Edublog Awards is promote and demonstrate the educational values of these social media. Nominations are open until November 26th under 19 different categories, after which time voting will commence. When thinking about nominations, I decided to choose blogs that I already follow via RSS feeds. Unfortunately, you can’t nominate yourself! I’ve nominated eleven blogs and these are the Seomra Ranga nominations:

Best individual blog: Free Technology For Teachers

Best group blog: Seas Suas

Best new blog: Saucepan Kids

Best class blog: SCC English

Best ed tech / resource sharing blog: Irish Teacher Blogs

Best teacher blog: Anseo A Mhúinteoir

Most influential blog post: On Starting School (The Clothes Line)

Best individual tweeter Fred Boss

Best twitter hashtag #edchatie

Best free web tool: Wordle

Best mobile app: Show Me
