Many Irish teachers have taken to the Blogosphere over the past number of years and are using the medium of a Blog (an amalgam of the words “Web” and “Log”) either to communicate with other teachers or as a focal point to highlight work being done in the classroom. Many teachers are finding that the medium of the Blog makes publishing content to the web really easy, as there is little more to learn than is already known for Microsoft Word in order to put together a basic blog.

However, because of the proliferation of teacher blogs on the internet, it is sometimes hard to keep track of them all and unless you have subscribed to the different blogs via RSS, you can easily let blog posts about interesting classroom practice pass you by. However, there is now a new website to make this task easy – it’s called Irish Teacher Blogs. This is an aggregate blog that pulls together posts from a number of Irish educators. At present the website features new content provided by 38 different Irish educators at all levels – primary, secondary and third-level teachers. It’s essentially a one-stop shop for all blog posts created by Irish educators. In order to keep up with this new blog content, you can also follow Irish Teacher Blogs on Twitter and Facebook. You can find the links to these social media on the ITB website.
