This is a sample of art work for the church for the First Communion ceremony. The background is made up of eight sheets of cartridge paper which have been taped together. These were then covered by a starry sky paper which was bought on a roll from a craft shop. The letters were done in collage by the pupils on separate sheets of cartridge paper. When they were dry, they were cut out. These were then attached to the background using either strips of polystyrene of the same thickness or cardboard egg boxes. This gave the effect of the letters being 3-D. The chalice is made from cartridge paper which was painted silver and outlined with pieces of gold card. Similarly, the host is white cartridge paper outlined again with the gold card.
