Cups and Crowns

Cups and Crowns is an educational theatre company who are the Theatre in Residence company with both Galway City and County Council for 2011/12. They have just announced the details of their first ever Art Competition for 1st Class pupils in  Primary Schools. To celebrate the launch of their year of residency, Cups and Crowns are holding a competition to find the perfect artwork for their new show – “An Capall agus an Caisleán“.

An Capall agus an Caisleán” will be touring schools around Ireland from September 2011. This unique bilingual (Gaeilge / English) theatrical experience is suitable for children aged 5-8yrs and is performed by Zita Monaghan and Gillian Kelly. The show runs for 40 minutes and weaves together traditional and non-traditional art forms to illuminate a truly magical world. In an exciting collaboration with Sean-Nós dancer and choreographer Ronan Regan (All-Ireland Champion 2010), Cups and Crowns Educational Theatre Company present a wonderfully giddy new show about (mis) communication.

This art competition is for pupils in 1st class. To be in with a chance of winning a FREE visit from Cups and Crowns, including a performance of “An Capall agus an Caisleán”  and accompanying creative workshops for Senior Infants, 1st class and 2nd Class, all 1st class pupils are invited to draw/make/paint their response to the following words:

• An enormous castle
