The National Children's Gallery

The National Children’s Gallery of Ireland was recently launched in the Belltable Arts Centre in Limerick.  It’s intended that it will be a lovingly-curated online space for showcasing and celebrating the imaginative artwork produced by children at home and at school. The website is dedicated to honouring children’s imaginations and will accept submissions from infancy to age 13 – it is a forum in which the artwork, creativity, joy and innocence of Irish children will be showcased. The site is funded through the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport.

The site will host an online gallery, where children themselves, parents or teachers will be able to upload the creative work of children in four simple steps. Artwork will be searchable by name, age and school and can include drawing, painting, crafts, poetry etc. The Gallery provides a List of Guidelines for parents and teachers about the submission of artwork to the online gallery. This is a laudable project and worth supporting.
