Camara

Looking for something truly memorable to do this summer? Camara Education  is a Dublin based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) who provide recycled computer hardware and training to schools in East Africa. They are currently recruiting Volunteers for four and five week assignments in East Africa, departing early or late July (depending on destination) . They are looking for enthusiastic people with a background in either Teaching/Lecturing/Training or Computing, both fully qualified and students. All training is provided in Dublin, mostly on Saturdays. You will be part of a Team of 5 to 8 individuals, and, working closely with our local partners, gain a unique insight into African life. You will need to fund-raise €2,800 to cover your expenses, but these assignments are run on a “break-even” basis. This money covers your training, accommodation, local travel and flights. For full details, contact Frank on (01) 652 2668 or email him at africa11@camara.ie The final call for volunteers is this week.

John Hegarty, secondary school teacher and CESI member was a volunteer with Camara in Kenya in 2009.
